How (and What) to Cook When It’s One Million Degrees Outside

I don’t know if it can technically be called a heatwave or if this is just some sort of new climate change-enacted normalcy, but the past several days in New York City have been disgusting outside, nearing 100 degrees Fahrenheit but also impossibly humid. Stepping outside for longer than a few minutes requires an outfit change almost immediately. How can anyone be expected to cook over a hot stove under these conditions?
